Description
The Vetario T50M is a full featured, professional grade veterinary intensive care unit which combines temperature control, humidity management, drug nebulisation and oxygen therapy. With an effective volume of 40 litres, it can accommodate a rabbit, hedgehog, kitten or small puppy for example. Vetario intensive care units are ideally suited to veterinary practices where quick set-up and ease of cleaning are key benefits.
Oxygen Compatibility: The Vetario T50M is fitted with an oxygen connector and can be safely operated with increased oxygen concentrations to aid recovery. The elevated oxygen levels which can be so beneficial to patients’ therapy also introduces the hazard of much easier combustion. This means that the higher oxygen levels in an intensive care unit can lead to fire much more readily than in normal atmospheres. The Vetario T40M and T50M models have been designed to control this risk and are classified under FDA guidelines as Rx devices for use by registered veterinarians only. Oxygen should never be added to Intensive Care Units which are not designated as Oxygen Safe.
Warm air can result in dehydration so the Vetario T50M has a water reservoir over which air is circulated to increase humidity within the chamber. The water reservoir is filled from outside the unit and is clear, allowing the user to monitor the water level. The M model also features a digital humidity display to enable the user to monitor humidity more effectively; an adjustable vent is fitted to the door which may be opened or closed to give greater control of humidity and fresh air flow.
With accurate and calibrated digital temperature control, the Vetario T50M gives the user precise and accurate temperature control that can be adjusted at the push of a button. The digital control system shows temperature in either °F or °C and includes dual adjustable alarms to warn of variations of temperature inside and outside the cabinet beyond user-set thresholds. Simply alter the temperature in increments by using the digital controls to adjust between room temperature and 96.8°F / 36°C. The digital controller guards against accidental temperature adjustment.
Airflow in the Vetario T50M has been carefully optimised to ensure consistent distribution of heat, so that it maintains the same temperature but with the fan maintaining gentle air speeds with positive pressure so that down, fluff and dust are not blown around. A twin stage air filter ensures that harmful bacteria and fungal spores are removed from the chamber.
Observation of patients is aided by a switchable internal light which safely illuminates the chamber interior.
With hygiene a top priority, the Vetario T50M has been carefully designed to make cleaning as easy as possible. The smooth, easy-to-clean interior has no vulnerable edges for claws or beaks to damage. The whole unit can be easily disassembled for easy and effective cleaning.
Nebulizer ampule and connector tubing supplied as standard.

Each Vetario S40, S50, T40M and T50M is fitted with a water reservoir which humidifies air as it is drawn into the heater enclosure. diluted solution of water-based disinfectant in the water reservoir (pan) to inhibit bacterial build-up. Do not use alcohol or other flammable disinfectants as this creates a risk of fire in association with the use of oxygen. It is recommended that the reservoir is topped up with solution daily to reduce dehydration. The evaporating block and filters can be carefully washed by hand but they do need changing regularly.
Disinfecting tip:
Please make sure that disinfectant is thoroughly rinsed off plastic parts after cleaning and avoid alcohol based solutions to avoid gradual embrittlement of plastic parts.
We have come across a small number of instances of plastic parts of the Vetario Intensive Care Units and TLC brooders becoming degraded, brittle and breaking – particularly around the screws on the door hinges) due to the action of some disinfectants. To avoid this don’t use disinfectants containing alcohol and take care that all traces of disinfectants or cleaning agents are rinsed away with water after cleaning, especially around the hinge screws.
PLEASE NOTE – The elevated oxygen levels which can be so beneficial to patients’ recovery also introduces the hazard of much easier combustion and higher risk of fire. The Vetario T40M and T50M models have been designed to control this risk and are classified under FDA guidelines as Rx devices for use by registered veterinarians only. Oxygen should never be added to Intensive Care Units which are not designated as Oxygen Safe.
